Vows

Benjamin Anderson of Chanhassen was among six men to pronounce first vows in the Society of Jesus during a ceremony at St. Thomas More in St. Paul, Aug. 15, with Archbishop John Nienstedt in attendance.

Those who also professed vows in the Jesuits’ Wisconsin Province are: Michael Rossmann of Iowa and Tho Vu of Nebraska; for the Missouri Province: Shane Mulligan, Sean Powers and Joseph Wotawa. All six men spent the past two years at the Jesuit Novitiate in St. Paul. Anderson will continue his studies at Loyola University in Chicago.

Also during the ceremony, Jesuit Father Joseph Weiss, St. Thomas More pastor, professed final vows.

In another ceremony, Jesuit Father John Thiede professed his final vows Aug. 22 at St. Joseph in New Hope, where he was baptized and where his parents, Len and Kathleen, are members.
