Bishop Joseph Martino clashed frequently with the local Catholic universities -- including the Jesuit-run University of Scranton -- and was dismissive of their ruling bodies, arguing that as bishop he would not heed their advice.

Bishop Martino is quoted:
"By the world's standards perhaps I have not been successful here," Martino concluded. "But I did what I thought was right. "
But, you know, the 9/11 terrorists did what they knew was right. Just as the suicide bombers in the Middle East and even criminals are doing what they know is right.
I keep coming back to "right" requiring that the values of others be taken into account -- "love your neighbor". I can't help but feel that the Bible is misread to match personal values and personal beliefs.
