A Few Jesuits On "The Food Stamp President"

As Catholic leaders who recognize that the moral scandals of racism and poverty remain a blemish on the American soul, we challenge our fellow Catholics Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum to stop perpetuating ugly racial stereotypes on the campaign trail. Mr. Gingrich has frequently attacked President Obama as a “food stamp president” and claimed that African Americans are content to collect welfare benefits rather than pursue employment. Campaigning in Iowa, Mr. Santorum remarked: “I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money.” Labeling our nation’s first African-American president with a title that evokes the past myth of “welfare queens” and inflaming other racist caricatures is irresponsible, immoral and unworthy of political leaders................

Yawn. Who cares what Jesuit hippies have to say? They, like the liberal elite media, have gone off the deep end, seeing racism where none exists. When will they publish a signed statement condemning Obama and the HHS for the infringement of religious freedom and the violations of conscience that will be required under law of Catholic institutions that provide health insurance for employees? That is a real moral blight on the nation, unlike the fabricated blight of racism (done to scare minority voters into supporting Democrats) and the fabricated blight of poverty (hardly any Americans are starving -- nearly all, even those classified as "poor", have better material conditions than almost all human beings have had for nearly all of human history). Jesuits are leftists first, and "c"atholic second, if at all.

They actually referred to themselves as Catholic "leaders"? What do they lead?

If food stamps are given to people who need food, why is it bad to be the president providing them? Would he prefer the "starving people" president? That doesn't have a ring to it.
I'm sure he'd rather be the "jobs" president, but I don't think we'll have one of them for a while. The economy took 30 years to get this screwed up, I suspect it will take almost that long to get back on track. In the meantime keeping kids from hunger and sickness seems like the decent -not to mention Christian- thing to do. Racism aside, shouldn't the Church officials be celebrating the Prez's new title? St. Francis would write it on his robe in big letters.

Again, Well said!

Want proof the Jesuits are going off the deep end?
Xavier University is Honoring Kathleen Sebelius and her father by offering Gilligan Public Service Scholarship.

See for your self:

Anon @ 5:30 PM

I posted a link, at America Mag's blog, "In All Things", to the same story about Jesuit Xavier University which desribes the scholarship named in honor of Sibelius and her Father. It was deleted, as are all of my remarks.

My note to the Editors:

Disappeared, again. What, no Jesuits to hear my cry of oppression? No
one to seek my liberation ? Or is that only when the "people of God"
agree with you all?

The Church's ultimate trial

675 Before Christ's second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers.574 The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth575 will unveil the "mystery of iniquity" in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.576

So Maria, President Obama is the Antichrist?!

Wow, that's seriously nuts.
