Josh Groban Sings A St. Louis Jesuit Song

Listen to Be Not Afraid, sung by Josh Groban
Josh Groban

Be Not Afraid was written by Bob Dufford, one of the St. Louis Jesuits. The St. Louis Jesuits, a group of Catholic musicians who popularized a contemporary style of church music through their compositions and recordings in the 1970s and 1980s. The group, originally made up of Jesuit seminarians at St. Louis University, used acoustic guitars and pop-style melodies and rhythms to set biblical and other religious texts to music sung in English

I'm afraid someone has mistakenly attributed this recording to Josh Groban. At least if you click the link provided above, it takes you to a version of "Be Not Afraid" sung by John Michael Talbot. If there is indeed a version of the song by Josh Grobin, I'd love to find it.

The mistake was mine at St. Ignatius Music. I sincerely apologize. It was a mistake made because of hurried posting. Mr. Talbot does a wonderful job with this version and we are all continually blessed with the work of the St Louis Jesuits, both then and now.

I've been hoping that Josh Groban would release a Christmas cd ever since I heard him sing O Holy Night. Well, finally, he has made a Christmas cd! It's full of beautifully produced songs. I'll Be Home For Christmas, with the messages from soldiers overseas, is especially touching. My only complaint is the duets with Faith Hill and Brian McKnight. Both of them are good singers on their own but their voices don't match well with Josh. If you buy the cd at Target, you get a dvd that has behind-the-scenes stuff of making the album.
