Archbishop Antonio Ledesma of Cagayan de Oro says the Church in its guard against immorality must rally behind this proposed law.
The Jesuit prelate, whose diocese hosts forums on bills and laws co-organized by bishops and legislators, said he fully supports House Bill 3305, now renamed Senate Bill 2464 and titled "Anti-Obscenity and Pornography Act of 2008." It penalizes writing, production, printing, importation, sale, distribution and exhibition of obscene and pornographic material. The archbishop said this proposed law "will help preserve the moral values of our society."
