Jesuits Take New Positions At The Pontifical Gregorian University

Pope Benedict XVI has appointed François-Xavier Dumortier, S.J. the next Rector of the Pontifical Gregorian University, to take office September 1, 2010. Fr. Dumortier (° 1948) was director of the 2nd Cycle and President of the Centre Sèvres in Paris. From 2003 until 2009 he served as Provincial Superior of the French Province of the Society of Jesus.

Father General has appointed Marc Rotsaert the superior of the community of the Gregoriana in Rome, to take office half February 2011. Fr. Rotsaert (°1942) was twice provincial of the Northern Belgian Province and is President of the Conference of European Provincials since 2000. He is also General Councillor of Fr. General.
