Just In Time For Lent

This week, from March 30 to April 3, Xavier University, the Jesuit, Catholic institution in Cincinnati, is hosting “Queer Week” on campus. Events are being sponsored by the club Xavier Allies. The Xavier website describes the week of activities as a time
“to embrace and celebrate the use of queer as an inclusive, unifying socio-political term for people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, straight, transsexual, intersexual, gender queer, or anyone else who supports the equality of all identities and expressions.”
On Monday, t-shirts were distributed on campus which read “Gay, Fine By Me.” Also, according to the university website, Friday is “Same-Sex Hand Holding Day.”
