America Magazine "Mute"

It was revealing to learn that when members of the USCCB recently met with the White House staff, they were told that the HHS Rule is set in cement. So much for dialogue
Moreover, the Obama staff informed the Catholic officials that they should follow the “enlightened” voices at America magazine (the Jesuits agree with the administration).
Dolan was pointed in his criticism: “The White House seems to think we bishops simply do not know or understand Catholic teaching and so, taking a cue from its own definition of religious freedom, now has nominated its own handpicked official Catholic teachers.” Catholic News Service never commented on, or posted, Cardinal Dolan’s letter in its “News Stories” section; instead, it relegated it to its blog postings, never highlighting the USCCB-America dispute. The liberal Catholic media—America, Commonweal and the dissident National Catholic Reporter—have gone mute. Dolan’s challenge deserves a response.
See Cardinal Dolan's letter here.

Hmmm. Ms. Fluke testifies at Congress. She is a member of “Law Students for Reproductive Justice” at Georgetown Universtiy. Oh, guess what? My, oh my. There are FIVE Jesuit Universities that host “Law Students for Reproductive Justice (LSRJ)”. They are:

1) Fordham University. big surprise.
2) Loyola Law School-LA
3) Boston College
4) Georgetown University
5) Santa Clara University

Vision of LSRJ: Reproductive justice will exist when all people can exercise the rights and access the resources they need to thrive and to decide whether, when, and how to have and parent children with dignity, free from discrimination, coercion, or violence.

"Law Students for Reproductive Justice" and "Catholics for Choice" are both members of “The Coalition to Protect Women’s Health Care” as is NARAL. Good to know, huh? Oh, they want you to sign a pledge. The pledge reads thusly: “All women should have access to birth control – without co-pay, no matter where they work. Don’t let opponents of birth control decide that only certain women deserve this important new health care benefit. Stand up with the Coalition to Protect Women’s Health and let your voice be heard today.”

So, the Society of Jesus is in bed w/ the death merchants. We’ve known this for decades. But, now, however, they seek to subvert the teachings of the church, in the White House, with the most pro-abortion President in history.

We should not be surprised that President Obama is instructing Card Dolan to take the advice of America Magazine, should we? It is, though, all starting to come together, isn’t it?

America Magazine ought not be surprised that Bishop Lori took them to task. They ought to marvel that they still have permission to publish. Anything.

Christ told us to “stay awake” for a reason.

PS These death merchants don't speak for me and they surely are not protecting my health care or anyone else's healthcare.

Hey...after looking at that list of schools with Fluke-clubs, I might actually well up with pride that my school (Loyola Chicago.....tag line ''Chicago's Jesuit University'') didn't make that honor roll...yet. isn't thay nice.

SSHHHHHHH! No one give them any ideas.

Ha! I get censored at America Mag when I point out these things. All manner of dissent is permissable at America Mag. Just don't go telling them the truth cuz they are not having it. No sir. ;)

L40--It occurred to me last night after posting this. Aren't the universities listed the same ones witha more than average obsession w/ what they so reverently refer to as "queer theology"? Then I remembered reading the original docs on the HHS mandate. The docs explicitly stated that the reason for the mandate is "gender equality". Hmmmm, is what I say.

The USCCB are a bunch of crybaby lobbyist. They think that public policy should serve their narrow understanding of Church teachings.

Maria--what, five posts and no quotes from Chairman Hardon?

I apologize. I did realize you were so "sensitive".

America has no defense! Once more we see the people at this ultra liberal anti orthodoxy magazine stand against the Church.
Well the Church has lasted for centuries; maybe America might last another 10 with its dwindling readership.
