Too many people take this kind of analysis seriously. I've spoken to theologians who seem to believe that what you say is the most important aspect of any situation.
Of course, many Churches spend copious amounts of time arguing about intention vs. action vs. ends vs. means vs. personal advancement -- as though such things exist in a vacuum.
