St. Stanislaus Novitiate In Macon Georgia

The residents of the historic Stanislaus neighborhood are taking action to keep their homes and the surrounding area beautiful.
Originally the site of St. Stanislaus College, owned and established by the Jesuits in 1874, the area underwent tremendous renovations after it burned in 1921.
According to Wendy Cassidy, who lives in the neighborhood and is one of the parties responsible for organizing a tour, the district is well known for its architecture. After it burned, it became the first subdivision of Macon,” Cassidy said. “It’s 42 acres and a lot of these homes have passed in one family for generations. It’s part of historic midtown in Macon now."
