P.F. Ignatius Of Jesu On The Mandaeans

Jean de Thevenot, in 1663, gave an estimated the Mandaean population as 3,279 souls. In 1672 the Jesuit missionary P. F. Ignatius of Jesu stated that there were 2,500 Mandaean families in Mesopotamia and that there were colonies of them in Muscat,Goa and Ceylon.
