Put Your Political Money Where Your Moral Theology Is

Head of San Francisco Catholic Charities Brian Cahill and Jesuit priest Fr. Cameron Ayers, S.J. of St. Agnes Catholic Church in San Francisco gave money to preserve gay marriage. Fr Ayers made his $100 contribution on June 23 to “Human Rights Campaign California Marriage PAC – No on Proposition 8.”

“So while our bishops (including our own Archbishop George Niederauer) are spending their time, talent, and treasure to defend marriage, and encouraging us to do the same, they are being undercut by these guys in their own dioceses,”

Fr. John is a Salesian of Don Bosco. He was the Provincial of the Western and then Eastern Province of the Salesians. He was president of Don Bosco Technical Institute in San Gabriel, CA. Former pastor of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Surrey, B.C. and then Saints Peter and Paul Church in San Francisco. He currently resides at Salesian High School, Richmond, CA
