Father Martin coming June 6 to HC on author blog tourNow this is an interesting idea from Loyola Press ... Father James Martin, author of My Life With the Saints, will be taking a week-long tour of different blogs to chat one-on-one as it were, via the comments boxes. Of course, I jumped at this opportunity since that was a book I really loved. You can read my review here. We'll be chatting about chapters 5 and 6 of his book on Friday, June 6. You can download the pdf of both chapters here. Chapter 5 is about Ignatius of Loyola and I am interested in discussing the use of imagination in prayer. Chapter 6 is about Pedro Arrupe who struggled mightily with obedience to the Church during his tenure as superior of the Jesuit Order. I think that will make a good place to begin a discussion of obedience to the Church and remaining true to one's own convictions. Of course, you might have completely different issues to talk about from these chapters. This is your chance to do it with the author. Also thanks to Loyola Press's generosity, we will be having a giveaway of a signed hardback copy of My Life With the Saints on that day. (Nothing but fun around here, y'all!)
