On his visit to India, where sectarian violence between radical Hindu and Muslim fundamentalists groups, and attacks on Christians continue,
Obama chose Mumbai’s Jesuit St. Xavier’s College, to praise Islam again, as “The religion [that] teaches peace, justice, fairness and tolerance.” Merely two years after terrorists from the radical Islamist group Lashkar-e-Taiba murdered 166 people,
including six Americans in Mumbai, Obama stated: “All of us recognize that this great religion cannot justify violence.”

Actually the shootings in Mumbai were the work of one of Mumbai's gangsters warning off other gangsters; as it just wouldn't do for all involved to admit that Mumbai's underworld is just what it is, they blamed it on Islamists.
One might as well blame the RC church for the Sicilian mafia, with which, by the way, it has good links.
The attackers were Pakistan, and their controllers directed their actions by cell phone from in Pakistan.
The Indian government released hours of recorded cell phone messages between the attackers and their handlers in Pakistan. During those conversations, the handlers directed them to hit certain targets and set a hotel on fire to garner greater media coverage.
Ajmal Kasab, the only attacker who was captured alive, stated that the attackers were members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based militant organisation.
On 7 January 2009, Pakistan's Information Minister Sherry Rehman officially acknowledged that Ajmal Kasab's was Pakistani. On 12 February 2009, Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik confirmed that parts of the attack had been planned in Pakistan and that six people, including the alleged mastermind, were being held in connection with the attacks.
The Mumbai massacres were organized by the Mumbai underworld, and about control of the drug trade, just like Al Capone's men went shooting things up Chicago.
Pakistanis who had their own reasons to shoot up Indians (Kashmir) were hired to do the dirty work. Simply claiming that Kasab was Pakistani and caught alive does not make it true, though it may be.
