Mangalore, Dec 28:
Bishop Fr Aloysius Paul D'Souza ordained six Jesuits in the Society of Jesus on Thursday, December 27. Melwyn Pinto from Neerude, Melwyn Lobo from Mudu Perar, Alwyn D'Souza from Beltangady, Sunil Ranger from Miyar, Prakash D'Souza from Gangolli and Lancy D'Costa from Kuppepadavu were ordained in the presence of a packed congregation in St Aloysius Pre-University College auditorium here. A large number of Jesuits from all over Karnataka province attended the ceremony. After conferring the priestly ordination, the Bishop opined that it was a day to rejoice for the Society of Jesuits. 'It is the Christmas season, a time for celebration, joy and fun. Six brothers have come forward to take the sacrament of ordination. They are going to lead a priestly life from today onwards, ' he said and wished the newly-ordained Jesuits a bright vocation ahead.
