The Catholic Identy Crisis Is Already Here, At Seattle University!

The Catholic identity crisis is already here, according to Seattle University administrators.
“I don’t think there is a strong campus-wide Catholic culture at Seattle University,” said professor of philosophy and director of the Catholic Studies program in the university’s College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Robert Deltete.
Deltete added that he would like to see the Catholic culture on the Jesuit college campus extend beyond the boundaries of the Chapel of St. Ignatius and campus ministry.
As a means to that end, Deltete invited Morey, who is Senior Director for Research at NarrowGate Consulting, and Father Piderit, who is President of the Catholic Education Institute, to give a lecture entitled “The Catholic Contribution to American Higher Education.” Morey and Father Piderit, whose book is based on interviews with 124 senior administrators from thirty-three Catholic colleges and universities, shared some of the findings of their research as well as several suggestions for promoting the integration of the Catholic faith and academia at Catholic colleges and universities.
