Sure On This Shining Night

Listen to the this beautiful classical chorale arrangement of Sure On This Shining Night
by composer Morten Lauridsen musical artists are Polyphony & Stephen Layton

Sure on this shining night
Of star made shadows round,
Kindness must watch for me
This side the ground.
The late year lies down the north.
All is healed, all is health.
High summer holds the earth.
Hearts all whole.
Sure on this shining night I weep for wonder wand'ring far alone
Of shadows on the stars.

Nothing Jesuit about this post, I just wanted to share something personal about myself. This is my favorite song that has a lot personal meaning for me, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

It was the Dominicans who introduced me to Lauridsen. The Schola at the Dominican House of Studies is SUPERB!

Bye the bye...

The Dominican have put out their "first album of their new label, Dominicana Records. The album is entitled In Medio Ecclesiae (In the Midst of the Church) and was recorded by the Schola Cantorum of the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., over the past eighteen months. The album was mastered by Scott Hull, who has worked with prominent artists such as Sting, Miles Davis, and Bruce Springsteen. The album is now available for download through CD Baby and iTunes and will be available in hard copy on November 12. For more info go to Dominicana blog and click of records tab.

Shamelss plug, Joseph.
