The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and Catholic Relief
Services have announced that they will host an online discussion devoted
to social ministry and legislative priorities. The discussion, which will take place on February 15, follows the
Catholic Social Ministry Gathering, which begins on February 10 at the
Washington Marriott Wardman Park hotel. Speakers at the gathering
include Cardinal Seán O’Malley of Boston, Father James Martin of America magazine, and Mark Shields and David Brooks of PBS. The online discussion offers “an opportunity to hear about the Church’s
priority messages from the Catholic Social Ministry Gathering in support
of programs that protect human life and dignity.” Participants will
offer the opportunity to “ask questions and engage in dialogue.”
